Welcome to a new day of the A to Z challenge! Following up on the topic of spices, here is one that is sure to spice things up in your kitchen and overall journey to a healthier lifestyle. Drum roll please… Make way for Jalapenos!
Jalapenos are a class of chili peppers known for their medium size, pungent aroma and versatility in methods of cooking a preparation. But what if I told you that these little creatures are packed with antioxidants vitamins A, B6, thiamin, and C, beta-carotenes and capsaicin, which may boost your metabolism and promote weight loss? Nifty, isn’t it? Other nutrients include minerals such as iron, potassium, and magnesium to name a few. As always, exercise caution when handling jalapenos because some might be quite spicy! So next time you go grocery shopping, get some jalapenos. Your taste buds will be invigorated. (Hint: a little milk may help calm things down!) Enjoy!
