Happy Monday and welcome to week 4 of the A to Z Challenge! I’m super stoked and can’t wait to share these two simple tips with you. They are about what to pay attention to when buying packaged goods for your pantry.
1. Calorie
and nutrient content
Pay
attention to the serving size and amount of servings per container in order to
know exactly how much you are taking in. Things, indeed, aren't always what they seem to be.
2. The
Ingredients List
Rule
of thumb: The shorter and more understandable the words on the list of ingredients, the healthier the food
item. Also…
Partially hydrogenated = Trans-fats
High fructose corn syrup = Refined
sugar

Always read the labels! I am on a Gluten free trial run, to see if this will solve some health issues. I tested negative for Gluten allergy, but I may still be sensitive. And, fun to read your blog--I was born in Manhattan, at Columbia and Presbyterian Hospital.

This is truly an eye-opener. Luckily, most Indians, especially those in my generation, very rarely use processed foods. And thank God for that!
